Fill Visa Form with ease

Filling visa form is quite easy and straighforward in general. Thanks to the German goverment, visa form can be filled online here. Nevertheless there are some tips which we can provide here to accurately fill the form.

Freedom of movement :

If you are citizen of Germany now, you can exercise this right while inviting your parents. Once ticked, your parents dont need to show/fill any information regarding the financing the trip. If you click on this field, the number fields to be filled will be reduced immediately and it will make the form filling super easy :).

Type of travel document :

There are tonnes of option to select from in the online form which can be confusing. But for normal people (i.e not diplomats) please select Ordinary Passport from drop-down.

Biometric data :

Its quite important field to consider. If you are not child under the age of 12, then once biometric data is collected, then it stays valid for 5 years and can be reused. Please recollect when last time your digital fingerprints were recorded and fill the approximate date. The visa sticker number is also needed to be provided which you can obtain by just looking into your passport visa sticker as shown in red box below.

Member State of first entry :

Here you need to state in which Schengen country you will land in first. If your plan is to first visit some other Schengen country before travelling to Germany, then please select from drop down the name of that country. The same applies in the case if you have connecting flight to Germany through Schengen Country! In this case also, please select the country from which you have connecting flight to Germany.

Entry permit for the final country of destination, where applicable -

Make sure you have permission to enter the last country you're heading to after leaving the Schengen area, if it's needed. This is all about where you're planning to go next. For instance, if you're flying to a different country and they ask for a visa for entry, you'll need to tell the name of that country and the dates when the visa is good.

Assumption of costs -

You can select all the means which you are going to use during your travel. For example, generally you will have credit card and cash as well then please select both. If the applicant's relative is taking care of stay and cost then also select the option "Assumption of all expenses during the stay".

Important! - Don't forget to save the form -

You can easily save the form by using the button at the bottm of page. If will download file with extension ".json". Keep this file safe on your computer.

This saved file can be used to reload the form at later point so that you don't need to fill all the information again from scratch. Also when you apply for the visa next time, you can just use "Import data" button and prefill the old data. Just change the travel dates and you are good to go.
